Numbers Play Important Role in This Furry's Dream

11/6/2012

I know I have contacted you multiple times before about "love issues" but this time it is different.

A few nights ago, I had an interesting (for lack of a better term) dream.

The dream was like this: I heard a gunshot near my house, so I ducked and got away from windows. About 5 gunshots later, it finally stopped, so I went to peek through a pair of blinds and I saw a furry that I recognise. I opened the blinds and in doing so, I noticed some other furs that I recognised as well as a lot of other furries I didn't personally recognize. I was motioned to come outside so I did and when I got to where everyone was, 2 people were lifting a body in a fursuit out of a ditch, the person in the suit had been shot at least 3 times (Probably due to the shots I heard earlier) and had bled to death through 3 bullet-holes that had penetrated his suit (This was no fur in particular, just a random fur). Everyone there was mourning, and when all was said and done, I told myself that I would find the person that did that and make sure justice is served.

Does this dream mean anything? And if so, what does it mean?

I await your response.

With great curiosity,
Kumori

Hello again, Kumori,

My goodness, I'm glad I've found such a fan in you :-3 and hope my past advice has helped.

Papabear believes there are two kinds of dreams: 1) dreams that are rather random and just the mind at play; and 2) dreams that have meaning. Because yours is such a detailed dream, I am inclined to think that it is of the second variety.

Numbers play a very big part in this dream, and number symbolism is therefore germane to an interpretation of the dream. In this case, the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 5.

In your dream, it begins with the sound of 1 gunshot. When you hear this, you are alone, scared by the sound, and go (temporarily) into hiding. The number one can stand for things like loneliness, but also leadership. You start off alone, but then note in your dream that you transition into leadership as you join your fellow furries outside.

The next number in your dream is 5--five more shots after the first. Five represents boldness of action, and you'll note that after the other five shots you go outside--you are summoned, actually, by another furry. Your furriness, therefore, may be spurring you into action.

Three is the number of shots to the unfortunately dead furry. This furry, since you do not know him, is also a symbol. He stands for furries in general. Now, he is bleeding out of his three bullet hole wounds. Three, in this case then, I would interpret to represent vitality, as he is losing his vitality (blood) through his wounds.

Two other furries lift the body out of the ditch--two representing cooperation, marriage, partnership. Therefore, a need for partnership to come to the aid of a serious problem.

Therefore, I would interpret this dream overall to mean that you are feeling that you are alone and persecuted, and so is the furry community, by outside forces (generalized by the bullets, but no identifiable gunman). The brotherhood of the furry community, though, calls you to action and leadership against such persecution.

Your dream is calling you to action and leadership. Perhaps you should consider doing so, if you haven't already.

Hugs,
Papabear

P.S. to my readers: Letters have slowed down to a trickle. Please do not be shy or embarrassed to write me about anything! It doesn't have to be about relationship issues (as you can see above). Anything at all that is troubling you, feel free to bend this bear's ear.

After reading this dream, and Papabear's response, I would like to make a couple of comments and offer my own interpretation of the dream.

First, I don't attribute any particular significance to the numbers. If the numbers have any particular meaning or importance to Kumori, that may well play into the meaning of the dream, and the same goes for any other aspect of a dream.

Having said that, here is what I would offer as one possible interpretation of the dream. A furry is hurt, and evidently killed, by gunshots, and other furries, friends and strangers alike, come to sympathize and show support by recovering his body. I would ask Kumori, do you know of someone in the furry fandom who has been attacked in any way? It would probably not be a real physical attack, more likely online bullying, trolling, or being challenged or called out because of something they said or did. Did the one attacked end up leaving the fandom or had their reputation tarnished because of it? The attacker may be from within or outside of the furry fandom. Did other furry fans rally around the one attacked to lend support? Did you feel a need to lend support as well, particularly by going after the attacker? If any of these things happened recently, this dream may be a way your subconscious mind is replaying it to you.

I won't claim my interpretation is any better or worse than Papabear's. If Kumori wishes to respond, I would be curious to hear how well or how badly it fits.

That is also a logical interpretation. Dreams, of course, are very personal things. I believe that symbols play a role, but also one's personal experiences play a big role, too, in most any dream. Knowing the dreamer's personal history would naturally be relevant to an interpretation, so your comments are quite valid. Thanks for chiming in!

Well... I know that some furries I know get "attacked" because of the fact that they are furries, but I don't think this dream had to do with that, but for all I know, it might have

Kumori,
How do you feel about those attacks?

This could be the a important part to understand your dream.

One thing I see and agree with PapaBear is that you've been ask to join something that seem to be pretty important.

Nivis, I would directly reply to your comment but there isn't a reply button. I of course do not like these attacks, and I would try to do whatever I can to stop them. As for the joining something, idk what that something is

Don't worry for the form of how you reply, it's not really important.

If you refer to your dream, your ASK to join: " I was motioned to come outside"

You didn't, at least in your description, chosen First to go outside a other fur tell you to come.

I see this as you may be ask to come help the community (?).

After thinking really hard about it I'll say the rest of what I see in this dream. Please keep in mind that it maybe "offensive" at first but I just say what the first part of the dream tell me. Again it's nothing personal.

You hear the FIRST gunshot and go into "protective cover"; totally normal normal situation in those circumstance (even for military personnel). But your decide to stay in this cover (the reason is only yours). PERSONALLY, I see that your not mentally, since it's a dream, ready to face and stand your ground against those attacks. At least not yet but you're willing to help.

Your last comment "I told myself that I would find the person that did that and make sure justice is served." I "feel" it with a lot of rage (normal for the situation).

Mr. Uncle Kage said 2 things that I can quote as warning about rash / under rage actions. Quote 1: "We are our worst enemy" Quote 2: "Furies destroy everything" (not fully sure about the exact wording of this one).

What I could suggest instead of searching for 1 particular person (the shooter of you dream) why not giving your best to 1st Prevent the attack on the community, 2nd help to send a positive image of the Furies to the world by doing what YOU do best and learn for the rest.

few.. that was a long one... Still I hope the message passes well and Invite our Host Mr. Papa Bear, yo Kumori and the other to comment as they wish.

This message is my personal view (with the minimum of bias I can) on this dream.

You make a good point. I would never actually kill someone or anything like that, even if they did something really bad. Yes, trying to prevent the attack would be good also by spreading the truth about furries (to take over the lies that TV shows say what kind of stuff we do).

I'm happy that my word and way to wrote have enabled the "correct" message I wanted to pass...

IF you ever want to speak public and mainly to Medias, listen the to panels about "Furries in the Media panel" and "Positively Promoting Furry/Furry in the Media - RF 2012 Panel" if you didn't done it all ready.

It's 2 panels you can find on Youtube that will give you guide line on what to do and Not do / make attention at. This way you risk less to fall on the usual "cracks" and give a better positive impact.

If you can also learn / research a little bit about the psychology of an attacker (physical and "verbally"); you could be surprise what you could learn about them. Knowledge is power but only with Wisdom it can be used correctly.

IF you plan to go toward media, try go get the most experience / formation about HOW to deal with them (by professional if you can).

This one wish you a good travel on the road you're about to take and remember your not alone in this.

Interesting exchange. I would point out that I don't believe there is one "shooter." The source of the gunfire is never seen. The gunshots are representative of a generalized outside threat, not of an individual. We should also be careful not to read too much into the dream; it doesn't give specific instructions to the dreamer, rather, more of a general impression on emotions and an overall direction of action. The main impressions being a sense of persecution and a call to join furries in resisting that persecution.

I agree with Papabear on the fact to try to read in dept this "kind" of dream can only be done by the dreamer if he / she chosen to do so.

Well, I don't know much about this but I need help. I am (15 yes 15) and I recently found out that my dad somewhat had some connection with furries. I am confused, because one part of me is saying "GOD YES" and another is saying "why, why me?" I really need help with this because this because it is eating me alive. Now I think that feeling (for furries) is now trying really hard to "get out" and I feel as if something is bound to happen. Honestly, whenever if first saw one I was like "wtf" to most of them until I saw ones I like. Then I was like, "must....resist...." and then failed to comply. What does this mean papabear? Please help
