"Ask Papabear" and Uncle Bear Publishing are proud to announce the winners of the 2020 Good Furry Award!
FIRST PLACE
This year's winner is ... Ash Coyote!
Ash wins the beautiful first-place trophy and a check for $500!
Ash is being recognized for her amazing "Ask Ash" YouTube videos that, as one person who nominated her said, "are creative as well as heart-warming. She is a wonderful beacon of creative light in this fandom. She has covered subjects which are important to this fandom and offered good insight.... She is also very positive and just an overall good furry. I showed her videos to my non-furry mother, and I think it helped my mom understand the furry fandom a bit better. Ash has all the qualities that I think make a good furry." Another nominating furry added: "Ash is an amazing person and has poured thousands of hours into passionately crafting a film about the bright spectrum of furry life. She is wonderful and a treasure to our community."
Congratulations, Ash! Oh! And she made a cute video about the award!
Honorable Mentions
Each year there are three honorable mentions. This year's winners are ...
Aleshka Alejandra: Aleshka is the first furry to win twice! She won an honorable mention in 2019 and was nominated four times this year by furries who admire her friendliness and helpfulness. Some of the things they have said include: "She makes everyone's day brighter!" "She is incredibly amazing and kind." "She is a really good, kind-hearted person, and I respect her for her hard work." And "she tries so hard and is very kind to those she works with."
Hunter Fusky
Hunter Fusky: Hunter also received several nominations for his kindness and community spirit. "He'll go out of his way to put a smile on your face, and he'll sacrifice his own happiness to make you happy," said one furry. "I honestly have never met anyone as kind-hearted and pure as Hunter Fusky." Hunter was also praised for volunteering to extinguish a wildfire that claimed 60 homes, helping to build a playground for kids with special needs, helping to build a home for an elderly widow, working at two retirement homes, and "painting rocks with people's fursonas as a free gift for all their sacrifices and time."
Dr. Courtney "Nuka" Plante
Courtney "Nuka" Plante: Dr. Nuka is well known in the community for his work on the Furscience team, a group of social sciences researchers who have published numerous academic papers about the sociological benefits of furries. Dr. Nuka has done a lot to help dispel misinformation about the furry fandom for the mundanes. In addition to his scientific work, he is very supportive of his local furry groups.
I am very pleased to recognize all these furries for being wonderful inspirations and examples of furry spirit and community!
Who will the nominees be for 2021? You will decide! Nominations will open again in January 2021!
